I thought this show was awesome. These guys have such a great sound and original songs. I wish they would just hit the road again. I caught both reunion shows in '06 and have been hooked ever since. Took off working at The Pageant for this night and it was truly the best show I have seen all year! BY FAR! One of the funnest shows of my short life... I spent many wonderful evenings at their shows. I'm always a bit skeptical of any reunion show, but Blue Dixie was tight! It was great to hear some of my favorite originals and some tasty covers of classic tunes (Kid Charlemagne and Nothing But Flowers are noteworthy). The recording itself is perfectly executed with a nice balance between AUD and SBD. It's well worth your time to check out. Can't wait to hear the multi-track that was done as well! My favorites continue to be Blue Line, Get On The Road, Great Western Slide, Along The Way, and of course Welcome Back My Friend, particularly the end part jam which was developed a little later than the main theme of the song. Amazingly fun to see old friends and new, and even get a chance to turn some new friends and family on to Dixie's music!
